This is a quadrophonic four channel mixed thing and do not sounds the best in stereo, but I am shure that sounds beautifuly in four channels.

Edited 4 years agoIdeally, the Doors are not supposed to be listened to frivolously, therefore a greatest hits compilation, strategically designed by record companies to squeeze as many charting singles or essential tracks from various sources onto a record in a bid to bundle together an affordable product for the consumer, would undoubtedly be a cash-in rather than an event. The Doors were serious albums artists whose music works best in the context in which it was intended, but if you have no desire to own anything beyond a sampler of their best-known tracks, then look no further than "The Best Of The Doors". Initially released in LP form during the quadrophonic era in 1985, this compilation had a genuine concept behind it, presenting such classic tracks as "Riders on the Storm", "Love Me Two Times", "People Are Strange", "Light My Fire" and "Touch Me" in the multichannel format for the very first time.
Somewhat less appealing than it was in 1985 since the release of 2017's exhaustive two-disc anthology "The Singles", which collects every single in chronological order with improved sound, the SACD reissue of 1985's "The Best Of The Doors" more than compensates for any overlap as it provides casual fans with a selection of their most accessible tracks in stunning sound quality sourced from DSD remasters of the quad mixes.

I've seen several people selling this on here, eBay, and Craigslist all saying it's rare. There are >1500 people with it cataloged and ~40 for sale currently. Am I missing something, why are folks considering this rare?
