My copy has similar (but not exact) matrix info. Also no indication to show it was an RI pressing. The matrix number is: st-ss-753309-bbb-1
The bbb etching is reeeally hard to see. -
Bought this version brand new in 1975.
K-Mart in the Chicago area. I was in High School. Not old enough to drive at the time. Money from cutting lawns and shoveling snow. Kids would come over and hear my new records. Fun times!
Richmond pressed. Atlantic Records cranked this plant up for major midwestern distribution. Still in great condition.
Likely a standard pressing. Good overall sound. Variable quality. Goes with the various recordings, on the original platters.
Really can't say how it compares to any other labels. If anyone has unneeded extra copies. Perhaps you send it to me. I would be happy to post some comparison reviews.
If you find an RI labeled Physical Graffiti.
It should be a decent analog listen.
Expect some surface noise. Mine is pretty clean. Seems to be common on vintage US pressings. Thorough cleanings can help with lowering noise.
Good dynamics on this version. Could stand some more bass overall. Not bad though.
Seperation is fine. Vocals have presence.
Guitar is nicely heard. Bonzo's drums are right in the room! It is an enjoyable listen.
If you find one. Say the price is right. Condition is there. Then it should be worthy.
