Pure expression of musical art! It creates its own atmopsphere like a trippy journey into spaceness ambience.... Truly a Gem! Hope for a repress for those who did not get the chance to buy :-)

        Side D for me...
I'd liken it to a train journey breezing through scenic countryside on a sleepy, sunny afternoon in Scotland. Ta

This album is so good that I have almost had it on repeat for 3 days. It is a nice floating ambient techno masterpiece! You wish it will never end.

One of those albums you feel really good about buying back in the day. Great aural journey for introspective nights.

My history with this album is quite a complex one, I guess. I first heard of this project (or any music of Dozzy for that matter) on Resident Advisor, who gave that album a rave review. I was drawn by the cover art and quickly checked out the snippets but kind of forgot about it, especially after there was long no vinyl release in sight. But still, Twins in Virgo, probably the "loudest" track on the album, made it to my ipod and was played ocassionally.

When the album finally came out on vinyl, I bought it despite finding the music a little bit TOO quiet and introspective. Keep in mind that I am a listener of both Techno and Ambient records, but the repetition on this album was a bit too much for me. So why the hell did you buy it, you ask? I guess it is finally time to unveil my secret obsession...my fetish, if you will: the triple Vinyl set. Yes. One is fine, two are better...four are great, too, but the ultimate format, the ultimate haptic and auditive experience, for me, is the triple vinyl. It probably sounds insane but I like the feel of three records in a sleeve, the knowledge that, when a record of normal length was spread across three discs, the sound must be immense. I guess it all started with Kompakts Total 10. I have been buying records for many years prior, even triple record sets, but when I picked up this album, something clicked, something fell into place. Two, all of a sudden, werent enough. Haha, that sounds so beautifully absurd that I have to go on! I mean, its not that I get a hard-on or something...it's more like...people appreciating the weight or the quality of a weapon..or a tool or jewellery. Sliding your hand down the hood of a sports car. That feel. If one of my records should ever made it to vinyl (a lifelong dream!), I would sell my body to make it a three disc set haha.

Ok, well I bought the album and it was kind of gathering dust on my shelf. It was enjoyable but I liked the feel of the sleeve more than the actual music. I couldnt understand all the rave reviews and people voting it as their top album. Than I became a father for the second time. My beautiful baby girl. Of course, like most babies, she had trouble going to sleep. So I carried her through our living room, for hours, just like I did with my first daughter. For my personal enjoyment, I tried out some music. Of course I knew that babies love that kind of music. Plastikmans Consumed was a particular favorite of my first daughter at that age. So I pulled out Voices From The Lake and not only worked it wonders in putting my daughter to sleep, it finally clicked with me, too. You don't have to turn it up to 11. Just getting lost in the repetition, slowly walking through our dimly lit living room, the same pattern again and again, just like the music. Ironically, the key is the relatively low volume. When so much music is to be heard loud to "get it", its the exact opposite with this album. All the subtleties you pick up than...a great experience.

                5/5 - recommended

Residentadvisor voted this album as the best one in 2012. Not without a reason: It is awesome!
Both, the CD and the Vinyl are pure bliss. The CD is more like a mixed version for the homelisteners while the 3 x 12" is for the DJs.
I don't think, I need to say something more because everything I wanted to say was posted from the like-minded before!
                    Get it!
