The too-serious but beautiful second album from George Michael is a landmark for the 90s pop to come, with samples, contemporary rnb sensibilities and a nice production. It features sad ballads, happy ballads, jazzy ballads, a very good Stevie Wonder cover and two standouts for me: "Waiting for that day", one of the most heartfelt compositions of his career that has it all (organ, spanish guitar, his voice all around, samples, a nod to Bob Dylan...) and "Heal the Pain", a gorgeous Beatles-like composition that seems to be composed by McCartney before being abducted. Recommended, though a bit on the AOR side.
