The original u.s. pressings of this album sound colossal. At first needle drop I thought the title track sounded a bit thin, but once the music really kicked in it was stunning. Even better with upping your bass knob.
In regards to the music, I've heard this far less times than the "classic" Machine Head, and this makes that album sound soft as hell. I don't think this is perfect, but to me the songs are crafted so much more thoughtfully, intelligently, and made much more engaging. The production and mix is clearly also top notch.
Rating: Better than machine head/ 10
