Pure stroke of luck that I found this today at our Toys ‘R Us store (Canadian division), after discovering a couple of days ago that they’ve partnered with HMV and given them retail space in the store for videos, CD’s, and…vinyl!?! And after missing out back in April for RSD (which is the approximate time they took over floor space in-store).

Finally scored a copy of this. The sound is very good. Obviously, we've heard some of these recordings before on TNOTBITH, but the set as a whole is essential. The band is tight, especially Chris & Tina.
Talking Heads have started releasing box sets of all their albums, with bonus discs. I can only imagine all the great, well-recorded concerts they have in their archives. -

This sounds great, don't get me wrong. However, the five tracks originally released on their old live album "The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads" sound way better on the original release than this one. The bass on this is rolled off and it doesn't sound as tight as it COULD BE. Nonetheless, still a fantastic press overall and a solid listen. 8.5/10.

I purchased this on RSD because I knew it was going to be a hot seller and the Talking Heads are very popular again. There wasn't going to be enough copies so it was better to snag one then sell it later if I didn't want it. Well, RSD was almost a month ago and I'm just getting around to listening to this release.
Wow! This is a great album. SQ is excellent and the music is so much better than their studio cuts. I'm not a big Talking Heads. This is the only album I own from them though I've obsessed over them in the past and streamed their music a lot.
All I can say is that I'm really happy to own this LP. It's a great representation of RSD can be. -

Well worth seeking out if you can still find one. Exceptional sound for a live recording and a great set.

Edited one year agoExcellent pressing.it sounds so amazing, especially considering it was recorded at a radio station in 1977. The energy is fun and typical Talking Heads.
I especially love the Take Me To the River track, which is a great version prior to actual release. It's obvious they've been playing these songs live for some time. Which makes "More Songs about Buildings and Food" so good.
I highly recommend it.
Hopefully, the after-market prices will subside. It's definitely an RSD gem. -
Purchased mine from local record store on RSD. Solid release, clean pressing, sound is great. Highly recommended.

I was lucky enough to grab one on rsd, this is probably the best sounding new release I've heard in a while. Incredible pressing
