Four great artists come together in 1969 to create one of the best supergroups of the west coast, and that is David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young: CSN & Y. A bit of news front is a must; in fact, the group was founded in 1968 as CS & N, while Young will be ed only the following year. The three decided to record together after a historic evening at the home of Joni Mitchell, where they began singing together as a joke. In 1969 their first album came out well, and then, as we have said, will them also the "dark" Young. The road traveled together since the quartet covers the span of just two albums, but their importance is crucial. The first ("Dejavù") is now certified gold, and contains authentic masteprieces as "Helpless" Young, "Teach Your Children" Nash and "Dejavù" Crosby. While this record still lingered in the rankings, came the wonderful farewell of the group in the form of a double album containing unreleased material: "Four Way Street". The same title was already predicting what will be the future of the group: >> << four different paths. In fact it was too strong and different personalities of the artists not to allow them to resume (or take) the successful solo careers. It remains to testify their magnitude this double album full of jewelry sound. Among the brightest, we must "Ohio" by Neil Young, dedicated to the four students of the University of Kent killed in clashes with the police as a result of the reactionary policy adopted by the Nixon istration. "Chicago" is a historical song Nash, dedicated to Mr. Dale (the mayor of the city overseer of violence against demonstrators against the Democratic Convention of 1968), with the now famous phrase << We can change the world, rearrange the world / is dying - to improve >>; and "Triad" piece of poetry unattainable Crosby. A milestone!
