Reviews
-
the paper sleeves included are really cheap and abrasive, shame the label wants to save those extra 50 cents instead of having their records delivered scratchless
-
Sounds incredible. I don't own another vinyl copy but this sounds neat and is one of the best sounding records I own.
-
Sounds like a cassette copy, veiled, and without air in the percussion etc., compared to an original pressing I have. I picked this up at a discount to have a spare. Listenable, but not great, this. Also sounds sourced from digital, so make that a "cassette copy of a CD" in tone and range.
-
Never heard this album on vinyl before. For me it sounds better than 1st press on cd which is dull. But side B of my copy suffers of crackling noises in some places. Not catastrophic but a bit unpleasant.
-
Sounds so sweet. Why anyone would want to beat themselves up searching, at all cost, for the perfect copy is beyond me. I've listened to many records through the years, and this one sounds excellent. Next to absolutely no surface noise at all. Rich and full sounding, showing off the Steely Dan genius beautifully. If every record I owned sounded this good, I'd be a very happy man. And also, for what it's worth, I bought it on Amazon.ca for $39.99 Cdn., and had it delivered in less than 24 hours.
I would highly recommend this album. -
Every track sounds incredible. Comes with a sturdy inner sleeve with lyrics on it that I lined with plastic so I could keep the record in there.

Music 10 sonic 10
My copy was perfect. No noise and very prestin sound. Compared to my digital version, this record sounds better to me.
-
I thought the sound was good and dynamic but I don't have anything to compare it to. My frustration with it is that with two copies both wet cleaned they have clicks and noise. On one copy the bass seems to be less in the mix on side B than on the other copy I have, this is something I have only encountered on different pressings but these are identical. The one with less bass has greyish areas on the vinyl, could this be the problem? I will try one more and if that isn't any better I better start saving up for a UHQR.
-
If you deepclean the record, it sounds great. It's not as open and lively as the UHQR but it's definitely better than the new hi-res which is a bit too bright. But yes, the AB and UHQR are better if you're willing to spend more.
