I ended up skipping this when it was first released, then picked it up with my free records promotion. I can't compare to other presses for mastering differences, but I did not experience any of the pressing issues noted below. Flat disc, quiet, etc. Without comparing it, it sounds reasonably mastered. Not mindblowing, but not bad by any means.

Obviously a beautiful package made by VMP, the marbled vinyl looks lovely, and a nice album selection do do as a special edition... HOWEVER, I A/B compared this to my 2015 US reissue (AIR - Moon Safari), and it just does not hold up. Pressing these at GZ is not doing VMP any favors. For pure sound quality, I'd recommend the 2015.

Superbe pressage de ce magnifique disque - Clair, dynamique avec un spectre sonore parfait - et la pochette est d une extraordinaire qualité - vivement recommandé !

It’s not a terrible pressing, but it still doesn’t stand up to the 2015 European RE from Parlophone. What I will give this version is the packaging and presentation. It’s a great looking record, and the jacket/sleeve combo (put together with the disc color) are a simply beautiful set to behold, but that’s what you’re paying for with this one. VMP could’ve done better with the sound, which isn’t terrible but isn’t as stellar as the visual end of the presentation. It will feel lopsided to those who are looking for the best sounding press.. this isn’t that, it’s the best looking one.

Edited one year agoI ~do Not~ understand people who buy vinyl and are pissed that it sounds like a record. God help there’s a pop or click here or there. Return that shit, STAT. it ffs. You obviously don’t give two forks about the actual experience of the vinyl Feel. This pressing is solid aF. Clicks (pun intended) all the boxes [enter all the adjectives for great sound and tangible product quality here].

My experience based on my VMP copy. A perfect pressing, quiet noise floor, beautiful detailed cut. Wish I know if this was mastered from the original dat / analogue tape, if analogue at all was used during mix down session. The gatefold artwork of pure quality and heavyweight, it's beyond beautiful and so is the coloured vinyl. This pressing is on par with the original cut. A worthy asset to my collection.

Edited one year agoOne of the most original and stunning colours I have ever seen on a vinyl. Definitely in my top 5. Quality is very good just like most of the VMP releases. Don't feel bad about paying a higher price for these vinyls, it's absolutely worth it.

Edited one year agoI’d stay clear of this pressing lovely colour vinyl but the background noise on some of these tracks spoiled it. Sold mine on now, Shame though missed opportunity to have a much audio
