Matte, textured lift-off lid box containing a remastered reissue of the Harvest album, a 7" single with outtakes, a 1971 unreleased BBC concert on LP & DVD, a DVD of the film Harvest Time, a 48-page hardbound book, a fold-out band poster, and a numbered lithograph.
Harvest is housed in a Stoughton tip-on jacket which has a matte texture on the outside and a high-gloss finish on the inside. The left side pocket includes a replica of the original fold-out lyric sheet.
BBC In Concert is housed in a matte Stoughton tip-on jacket.
Harvest Outtakes is a small hole 7" issued in a shrink wrapped matte picture sleeve with top opening.
Harvest Time DVD is housed in a printed card sleeve and comes with a two-sided insert.
BBC In Concert DVD is housed in a printed card sleeve.
All runout details are hand etched. The faintly inscribed "geometric" marks (e.g. '1+' and '1V') are mirrored.

Edited 2 months agoAll raving here about a great box, which this really is. If it wouldn't be spoiled by pops each round at the end of "Words".
Returned an "After The Gold Rush" box for a similar reason. That one was pressed by Pallas, this one by Optimal. It's annoying, I hardly have any issues with any 1-2 record sets, but the high priced boxes all have some issues these days, as if someone keeps the garbage for the special releases. Really not happy. It's quite an amount to pay for me, and I ain't got the nerves to sent it all back again.

Otherwise a great set, nice, heavy box and all. Hope this was just a second time of bad luck (sadly occuring in between a two-weeks-period), but I recognize a decline in quality control at many of the known plants with just Record Industry, NL really standing out as a positive example. -
I’m really glad Neil released this movie. It’s a time travel to an era That’s long gone and it’s really interesting to see what happened in that barn. Fascinating stuff! -
Re the BBC DVD distortion. It is a problem. This from Neil on his Archives website:
"We have an issue with the quality of one of the discs in HARVEST 50th. We are talking to Reprise about how to handle this so you get what you paid for. I am very sorry if you have a DVD that is not perfect. We are working on a plan with Reprise for those of you who feel the BBC DVD has a problem and we will let you know when we have something to offer you and a good method.

It is beyond me why they chose to include DVDs and not Blu Ray versions of the concert and documentary....

Audio on the BBC DVD is heavily distorted. It's unlistenable. This needs to be corrected. Terrible quality control. -
For the money, I honestly think this set is of a very high caliber that most other modern boxsets should strive for. The lift-top box is nearly 1.5” thick and fully textured like the original LP jacket. You’ve got two full albums in thick, textured jackets, poly-lined inner sleeves, and Chris Bellman mastering to boot. The 7” is a nice collection of unreleased tracks, and is a welcome change from the typical 3xLP nonsense of 7 takes for the same track. The hardcover book is excellent quality, and the two DVDs included inside it are a full concert and a 2hr movie. My only gripe would be that they should’ve been Blu-ray discs, but that’s really the only complaint. Overall, this is a set that I can hold and really feel that I got what I paid for.

Disappointing Harvest Lp on 140gram vinyl, but totally outstanding pressing of the BBC Concert on a 180gram vinyl lp.
Everything is really well packaged and totally high quality.
have to listen yet to the LPs but they are visually perfect and totally flat.
Absolutely a fantastic Reissue. -
Well, i will on this - all is perfect, maybe, but the pricing of Neil's anniversary editions is really off-putting, considering what you get, at least to me. -
