The sound quality on this set is absolutely amazing!!! All three records have exceeded the sound quality of the original pressings (which I also own). The extra grooves do matter and Bernie nailed the mastering. Dead quiet playback, incredible set!!!

The paper sleeves aren’t that bad, they are wide enough to take out the records without scratching them. All discs in my set sound find:)

All of the LP’s came riddled in scratches as a direct result of them using hard paper inner sleeves. Wtf?? Why not use Poly lined sleeves to easily fix this issue like the other Neil young reissues. They sound just fine after being cleaned but still…

This is a very lovely release outside of the really awful quality control.

Horrible QC. I received records with gouges and actual clumps of vinyl stuck to the grooves, along with miss cuts. They sent an entire new box set to replace it and it had similar issues. I ended up piecing together a collection from two separate sets just to have something to listen too.

Terrible quality control. All records arrived scratched & foggy. Covers are also not vivid compared to original ones. When you get it instantly advised to replace all paper inner sleeves with quality inners to avoid damage on the records.
5 stars for music & mastering.

Anyone know if Ragged Glory is expected as it’s own reissue?

Just to be clear: Ragged Glory is remastered from the original analogue tapes - presumably AAA - but when the album says "source" one can never be sure. The other albums - Freedom, Weld and ARC are all derived from 16/44 digital files (CD quality - not even DAT).
Ragged Glory is mastered much louder than the 1990 OG (original generation) - but it sounds significantly better - a triumph and a good reason for splurging on this box. The mastering engineer is Chris Bellman. Freedom does sound slightly better than the 1990 OG - mostly due to the fact that it is now spread over 4 sides rather than two. Both versions betray their digital origins. Weld sounds pretty much the same as the CD version
