I ordered what I thought would be a B2B 320 cut but got this instead. Side B was full of white gunk which cleaned off pretty easily and had a double label that peeled off the moment I touched it.
I didn't expect this horrible QC from Pallas, but ironically the record is perfect otherwise - flat and silent. Sounds great too. -
Proof that not EVERY release has to be a cumbersome 2LP with 2-3 songs on each side. 1LP and it sounds fucking amazing!

Edited one year agoThrew this on side one only to hear Very Ape start playing. Seems the labels are amusingly stuck to the wrong sides!
Runouts differ slightly and end with -I and -III -
Edited one year agoGreat release overall for me. Good instruments separation, punchy sound.
Silent surface - thanks, Pallas!
It’s funny (and sad at the same time), but the label of side B is completely bloated. -
Edited one year agoI am really hesitant to believe that this contains the Albini mixes of HSD and AA, since it uses the same plates as https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/22912757-Nirvana-In-Utero which definitely doesn't. That one seems to be an identical release, and I personally verified that the mixes are the Litt mixes. Can anyone actually that this is some kind of weird and distinct version that differs from the one I linked?

The quality of the record is impressive, although it's difficult to evaluate it without any comparison to other pressings of In Utero. The music is exceptionally natural and has a way of transporting you to an intimate live gig in a small basement club - it almost feels like you're there in person. Despite its warmth and intimacy, to my ears, the record has a dynamic range, that matches that of both CDs and high-resolution streaming.
Overall, I personally enjoy it and appreciate the quiet pressing that's free from any surface noise. Bought on Amazon in April 2023.
Can anyone tell if it's a repress of an old pallas cut from 2010 ?

Quiet, flat, not too compressed, somewhat constrained. Good separation and clarity overall, excellent bass. Maybe slightly better than the CDs I've had. A worthy place holder until you can shell out for a known better copy soundwise.

Does this have "Made in " sticker on back shrink as well as printed on back of sleeve? Helluva a time tracking my version down...
