This may sound weird but I had never heard Kid A or Amnesiac before. I own everything else on vinyl except King of Limbs and Pablo Honey, and have a bunch of the Capital singles.
So naturally this was a perfect opportunity for me to round out my collection and finally get a copy and absorb the legendary Kid A.
After reading all the horrible reviews of US pressings, I bought this Japanese pressing, and this morning listened to Kid A on headphones.
The sound is great, the vinyl flat and quiet, and maybe because I'm not familiar with the music outside of this release , but I'm not noticing any really obvious IGD.
I'm happy with this purchase. -
My copy of this does have the high-end distortion on HTDC but other than that, it is flat and no other issues aside from the odd pop here and there that should go away with cleaning.

Edited 3 years agoThe EU optimal pressing along with the Japanese pressing have been the best ones. This one may actually be the same one? Either way, happy with these. Went through a couple of United ones before settling on these.

Perfectly flat records, great sound, very minimal ticks but should go away after some cleaning. The OBI is a nice touch for collectors. I only wish it came with proper poly-lined inner sleeves.

Edited 3 years agoI bought the U.S. pressing first… it was a disaster. Off-center, chipped, warped to oblivion, probably haunted. Returned that mess and went for this one from JetSet Records. The obi is neat, I understand that, but the pressing itself is phenomenal. Yes, there is some right channel distortion in the high frequencies on How to Disappear Completely towards the end, but outside of some random pops here and there, it’s exceptionally quiet. A wet clean might take care of that. Furthermore, the records are flat, pressed on-center, and clean. Of course, I am just one person, so it’s hard to say if these Japanese pressing are superior as a whole. But I’m certainly happy with mine.
