Edited 2 years agoWhile the score molds (no pun intended) with the game exceptionally well, this is not what I would consider to be a soundtrack worth dropping significant money on. By and large it lacks the melody of previous Resident Evil soundtracks, something I consider to be core to any album; this score is almost entirely ambient and abstract noise.
Having said that, the saferoom theme is another winner, and brings back memories of warm light and a brief, welcome respite from the horrors lurking inside and around the Baker residence. -
After a couple of somewhat disappointing Resident Evil releases (pressing quality-wise) I'm happy to see that Laced have finally switched pressing plant from Optimal to GZ and the difference in quality is very clear. This is a much better pressing than the last few RE releases. It sounds very clean (barring a few pops I did hear throughout all 8 sides) and quality is nice.
My main complaint is that I don't like this type of gatefold box set as it feels very flimsy, but I suppose that's entirely subjective. Overall, though, I'm quite satisfied with this release and happy to see the series switch to a higher quality pressing plant.
