Never bought a "game soundtrack" especially for that price, but "go tell aunt rhody" is now a very nostalgic piece for me, like the game too. so after the steelbook, i decided to buy this too just for collection. i think this is more a collectors piece than for listening, but this song is amazing, not very positive but great :)
off topic: 2017 was a special year, great song came out like "something just like this", or this one, great games like resident evil 7. very very nostalgic year. -
Edited 2 years agoMy copy clicks all the way through. Cleaned it but it didn't make a difference. It's mad that we're basically expected to clean brand new records, even madder when it doesn't remove the clicks. I think that it should be stated that the majority of these Resident Evil records, at least from my experience, are defective. Not just RE7.
Shame they don't get CD releases as standard anymore.
On the soundtrack itself. It's a very abrasive and acquired taste listening experience. I appreciate them adding in DLC, menu and VR tracks. The music suits the game very well; it's an intense and overwhelming listen, similar to the game itself which was criticised for being too scary. Good stuff and generally glad to have this for the collection.
I like the slick artwork with the orange highlights. Not a huge fan of the way you have to remove the discs - I prefer what they did with RE2make OST.
FYI - you can get high quality flacs from Steam for £15 I think. That's the best way to listen to this. -
Edited 3 years agoMore and more expensive, less and less affordable. Just for collectors ...
Paying 85 euros for a box of 4 vinyls is really expensive. For this price, the pressings have to be perfect and obviously, that is never the case. There will always be one side with some surface noise, another side with a little scratch. Perfection does not exist any more today ... The general listening is rather good but still some slightly warped sides like most of the vinyls coming from GZ media .... For the price, IT is absolutely scandalous that the lps are not in anti static sleeves. I continue the collection a little out of obligation because I am a fan of resident evil BUT it is clear that this mass production and this increase in prices and this decrease in quality will make me buy less and less lp ...
