Notes
1988-90 pressing of Capitol’s series of their earlier UK album catalog, first issued in 1987 for the first time in the US (outside the Mo-Fi limited editions), matching their CD counterparts (and using the same catalog numbers). Digital masters were used in these pressings.
There are 3 variations to this series.
This listing is for variation #2:
#2
-Catalog # of CLJ-46438 (seen on spine, upper left front cover and labels)
-Purple Capitol label design with the Parlophone logo on the left side of label above the “1” and “2”.
-No Capitol or EMI logos on the bottom back
Pressed at Allied Record Co as identified by what looks like an upper case Q (but is really a lower case "a" with a tail) stamp in the run out.
Most pressings came with a 2” round red sticker stating “DIGITALLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL BRITISH CATALOG” with the album title, cat # and Printed in U.S.A. (see photo)
Disc comes in a clear rice-paper sleeve.
For variation #1 (1987): The Beatles - Beatles For Sale
For variation #3 (1995): The Beatles - Beatles For Sale
