As the other reviewers say, amazing master. Resolution and stereo imaging that makes it like hearing it for the first time again. Another moving experience for a true fan that's only heard digital or picture disc.
Used a microlinear stylus on an AT turntable, using its own preamp (sounded wrong via my discrete phono preamp despite neutral settings), connected directly to a balanced amp and listening via FiiO FH19 Hybrid IEM's (4.4mm connector/Sonic Foam tips). HumminGuru Orbit used to remove static prior to playback. -
Edited 3 years agoHaving heard/own at least 7 different original issues (1st. SWE, UK, FRA, US x2, CSSR, JAP), I can claim this is the best, definitive version. By relatively slow margin but it is. According to me the sound is well balanced, no sibilants, very good dynamic. Too appreciate gatefold sleeve. Generally highly recommended to any ABBA fan or collector.
PS: Waiting for Visitors to be made in the same way as this issue. Hope it will come asap :) -
Good pressing, no surface noise and unusual good sound for an ABBA album.
But there is definitely too much base throughout all tracks.
Might be helpful on small speakers, on my big floor stands it‘s simply too much. -
Edited 2 years agoAfter spending considerable time with this release, I’m going to have to eat my own words. I always felt that George Piros’s Atlantic master was the best version of this album, however this is the ultimate pressing. It just pops across all levels. Outstanding job by Miles Showell. Sadly it comes with the usual shoddy artwork - cover is pixilated. Someone has obviously lost the original artwork 🙄. Buy two copies, because you will wear the first one out !

Received my pressing today. 1st disc is pressed off centre to such a degree the opening to 'Super Trooper' sounds sickly! Absolutely horrible. 'The Album' (45 RPM half speed remastered) also suffered with this but not to such a degree). Second disc sounds great, but that 1st disc is one of the worst I've ever seen. I just hope I've got a bad example.

please check the last song title of side 4 on the label. it is the same typo error that already happend on older releases :-)

Edited 4 years agoThis 2020 edition sounds superb, and plays back at 45 RPM on all sides.
But you will have to flip quite often, as each side is less than 14 minutes.
It did not have a digital code in my copy, plus it did not have Back To Black hype sticker.
Vinyl was very quiet with no static or pops.
