Like for other Waters-dominated Floyds albums, multiple listenings are required. After 31 years, and hundreds of plays, this feels to me as musically layered as DOTM, and emotionally richer than its more celebrated successor. The acoustic guitar opening of Dogs never fails to send shivers down my spine.
