Let me preface this by saying I have never heard a first press of this album. However, I can't imagine it sounding much better than this. For a band that was notoriously poorly recorded this thing blew my mind - incredible soundstage and separation with a super punchy low-end. FWIW I bought a visually G+ copy that plays VG+ for 90% of the time - these 70s Westbound releases seem to be very forgiving for whatever reason.
