The hype is real on the AB-1006 pressing. I’ve heard many pressings and masterings of this, one of my all-time favorite albums. None of them sound like this. It is punchy and alive in a way I’ve never heard before. If you can find a nice copy for the right price, grab it.

MAC records 250-449 is not a CD. It's vinyl and it's German. I have it in my hands right now. 250-449-1 and MCA 37214.

Edited 4 months agoI'm so late to the game on this because I've got a minty AB-1006 that never dissapoints. Holy shnickies! This about knocked my soxs off! Bravo to all those those that persevere in the analog arts, this album is certainly a pinnacle. Amazing. (No. 012043)

Why is it that I can listen to Aja over and over again and never get tired of it? The strange thing for me about this masterpiece is that even though I have listened to Aja hundreds of times, each track still takes me by surprise : I still have not ed the track sequence - that's the genius of it all right there ...

all of the hype is real on this. My copy is not even near mint let alone mint, and the AB 1006 just sounds incredibly detailed. 'I Got The News", my least favorite song on the album, kills it on this pressing. Definitely pick up a copy of an AB 1006 if you can

Edited one year agoAll the positive comments are right, I buying this a while ago and ever since it’s been one of my favorites.
Massive soundstage and even nearly 50 years later it’s sounds phenomenal. I’ve never felt the drums in the title track like this before. There’s just a slight difference with an AA press, both sound great.
I’ll be keeping onto this for a long time -
Muffled
I have the OG AA 1006 and despite some surface noise it is a TON better.
What really mystifies me is all of reporting quiets copies … mine farts a lot…. Gonna get a replacement.

Today received the 2023 180 gr gatefold Remaster 7673216881 ABC Records Dutch pressing Universal Holland. From what I read in the previews this was supposed to be a Geffen release?
