Overall superb master and pressing; awesome depth of sound and immersion for key tracks like "Do You Feel Loved," "Staring At The Sun," "Last Night On Earth" and "Wake Up Dead Man"; I agree with others that "Discotheque" is a tad lacking compared to other tracks, but it's still an improvement over the CD. My copy is clean and whisper quiet.

I was a big big fan of this one. The POPMART Tour was my first U2 show. I always found the CD a bit murky, but this remaster is a great upgrade. All of the parts are very clear, good solid pressing. Couldn’t be happier!

I have to agree with the other posters who find this pressing to be veiled. My copy is clean, flat and with no imperfections. However, the sound has an emphasis in the low-mids. The guitars and drums don't sound as good as they could. The high frequencies are mostly not present. I'm using a VPI/Soundsmith setup that's dialed in. I recall the CD sounding better.

i love the remastering . much more balanced frequency range and a wider stereo panorama which makes it more open. compared to the original it's not as muddy as described here by others. only the pressing is not as good as the other recent U2 reissues. it's not bad either but somehow noisy in quiet parts and sometimes crackling. so mastering top, pressing ok.

I'm fine with this pressing. Yes, Discothèque sounds muddy (which I guess is intended to sound like that) and yes, the album is bass heavy (reduce the bass on your amp as I did and be happy). Crackles during the quiet parts are existing but still acceptable (except for IYWTVD, I agree). Discs are flat and centered, packaging is of very high quality. Finally, still sounds like a no-brainer to me. If you like the album, go and get this version before it's gone.

No audio problems with my copies but there was one small visual scratch on side B (but didn't hear any defect). Sounds great. I can understand why some call the mix muddy, the low-end is mixed very rumbly and I think unless you have speakers/headphones that can deal with that, it might not sound very good. I'm happy with it. Might have to pick up Zooropa...

I’ve had both copies OG and reissue. It’s true, the bass is heavier on the reissue...but that fixed my main complaint about the Og. To me, the reissue is a clearer press and far superior than the OG...artwork is pretty close to the original...with some slight color hue and scale differences (only noticeable if you have the records side by side). Sounds like there are some bad reissue copies...but honestly from what Im reading and heard...you’re not gonna get anything less than the OG sound with the reissue.
