Edited 9 months agocertainly not as good as an original vinyl, or those beloved, rare and expensive 80s RCA discs, but I certainly don't mind this (or the other 1990-92 EMI/Ryko remasters I've heard either)
I think it sounds fine enough to me. I didn't grew up with the original LP or RCA disc though, you might be more inclined to hunt down those if you are obessive about that sort of thing. It's definitely brighter and comparing with other versions makes it sound a bit off for sure, but I can still listen to them and enjoy myself a ton, It's not like the EQ is distracting to me or making me want to reach for another version like other remasters have done for me before, and it's still incredible music within!
Some great bonus tracks on some albums like Low, Heroes and Scary Monsters too, some of which havent carried over to modern reissues or box sets. I've been happy collecting this series :-)
