My only question is whether or not this is the "best" pressing of the record.
Cosmo's Factory is definitely up there with Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys, and its one of my favorite albums overall. Ramble Tamble just explodes onto the scene and entrances with its exuberant band and vocal performance. And the rest of the album finds the band in fine form.
There is excellent production and mixing, and a nice balance in style between the louder rock sounds and the groovier songs. -
This is a very solid release with excellent songs, including several good covers. I suspect CCR began as a cover band as they are able to deftly move between blues, rock, funk, and 50s style Elvis / Gene Vincent.
"Run Through the Jungle" is my favorite, but their version of "Grapevine" with a short jam section it's also very nice.
Pressing sounds great, no complaints. Recommended. -
Edited 4 years agoBesides of the success of the song "have you ever seen the rain" in Brazil, which i really don't like, maybe because this song was played a lot here, Creedence have a strong discography to be discovered and enjoyed. "Cosmos Factory" is my first introduction to the band. I listened "Ramble Tamble" for the first time in a bar, late at night. A strong opening for a consistent album, the John Fogerty vocals, the warm RCA sound of my brazilian copy, and the instrumental background gave you one of the best classic rock experience or introduction to the genre. Find a second hand copy, or one of the good reissues and you will have a gem in your hands.
