The Beatles – The Beatles' Greatest

Bit of surface noise on my copy - probably due to the gold coloured vinyl, but otherwise this sounds surprisingly good with a nice, punchy sound throughout it’s a very enjoyable listen!

I really like this German compilation as it has some very nice mixes:
1) 1965 stereo mix of a “I want to hold your hand” which was made before the George Martin mix in A collection of Beatles Oldies.
2) The Capitol mix of “I feel fine” (the one with the reverb all around)
3) All my loving has the Hi hat trick in the beginning.

J’en possède un exemplaire mais j’ai le contenu de la face 1 qui se répète sur la face 2 !!!! tout est ok question labels, pochette etc…quelqu’un connait ce genre d’accident ?

I have this record but the face 1 repeat itself on the side 2 ….somebody knows that kind of problem ?
It may be interesting for a collector, you never knows.

I am unsure of my varient. The runout of both sides A and B is YBEX 50070 113 499 2-7. Sides B4 and B6 are credited MaCartney/Lennon

My copy has a name and date written on the sleeve: “[...] 1972”. Which probably means that this person bought it 1972, because why would they date it (i.e) a year after purchase? The thing that may disprove this, is if the record store had it for a time before it was purchased. Maybe not that important, but maybe worth noting.

I have variant 2 of this Dutch pressing (...33497-1-Y / ...33498-1-Y). It's obviously a local recut from around 1977 made from a different master than the earlier pressings: I Feel Fine is true stereo and All My Loving does not have the hi-hat intro. Like on the earlier pressings, She Loves You is fake stereo and easily the worst-sounding version I've heard so far. The sound quality of the other songs is ok but really nothing to get excited from. A plus is the vinyl which is flat and very quiet.

Not a very good pressing from the heyday of colored vinyl issues from the late 70s. Flat sounding with no punch. Probably due to the gold vinyl used. This copy does have the hi hat intro for All my loving

I was playing this today and it’s hard to believe that some of the songs on here didn’t make the cut for the new 2023 red album 1962-66 reissue . I should have known better, long tall Sally , it won’t be long, rock and roll music and please me postman are Beatles classics , yet fail to make a top 75 song Beatle comp (if you include the blue album ). Just shows what a friggin amazing band they were 🎸🎶

I've recently purchased this record in a corner shop. Now I'm really happy to own this album and I recommend it! All of the other commenters have mentioned All My Loving and I Feel Fine, and it's very interesting to hear the versions used on it. So if you don't have them: give this LP a spin...

I agree with you. Not a stereo mix, but "I Feel Fine" has way too much reverberation.
The better version is on "Collection - The Beatles Oldies"
