From 1972 to 2001, the American singer Michael Jackson released ten studio albums.
"HIStory - Past, Present And Future - Book I" was Michael Jackson's 9th studio album and first published in June 1995. It also included the first officially-called greatest hits compilation on Epic Records. It sold over 40 million copies worldwide and was therefore commercially less successful than his predecessor "Dangerous".

⇒ "They Don't Care " – As this song became controversial for its lyrics containing slurs for Jewish people, those parts were censored with loud electric noises.
⇒ "HIStory" omits its original intro and was replaced with a new intro similar to the original.

This sounds unbelievable. I have Thriller , Bad & off the wall , all US 1st press pitman which are all incredibly good and punchy and hot . The greatest hits part is 99% identical to these pressings.
As for the second part, oh my Lord, Scream hits you like a train. Stranger in Moscow the same, earth song , you are not alone.. you never heard these tracks until you’ve put this LP on a good system. Mind you that I also have the CD which is by any means, no slouch and is also amazing sounding, for a lower budget audiophile -

One of the best releases of Michael Jackson, the singles are amazing, my favourite track is D.S., the bass in all of the tracks is amazing, especially the second disc. -

I just can tell that this release is great. Sounds incredibly good. For me „stranger in moscow“ is so great; deep bass – other than the CD release of this album. But I can’t tell the difference between those vinyl versions (us, brazil, etc.). Would be interesting to know if anybody has any experiences between those versions. -
Edited 2 months agoI agree with the positive reviews, it doesn’t sound as bad as I thought it would ! I may even say it is more silent than some proper vinyl records I own. The background noise is only noticeable at the very beginning of each face and between tracks, you can definitely play it loud. Powerful bass too. Glad I didn’t splurge and buy an original pressing ! The copyrights on the back of my copy are rearranged in two lines (as opposed to three) but runouts do match. -

Bootleg version in black vinyl. Different to 2023 blootleg version on cover (space between legs), and back. If you look closely at the cover it looks a bit pixelated. From a distance there is no problem. There is no sticker on cover, it's part of design. Unofficial release of BOTDF is better printed. -

Edited one month agoSurface noise is only really noticeable when listening with headphones but is rather jarring with some of the more quiet songs (ala Stranger In Moscow, Childhood, etc.). ignoring this, the pressing still sounds great for a picture disc.
