i forgot to switch TT speed to 45 but after hearing it in 33 rpm , kinda hooked on slow sludgefunk groove. -
i never forget, when i first listen to this 4 track ep...it blew my mind and still does it. i discovered drum& bass at the time and it became a love affair to this day, specially the golden age of the late 90s.
this is perfect, reduced to essential beats and bass, with atmospheric synths.
the following lp was not in whole on this level, but also great, there are also wonderful later drum&bass tracks by photec, much more heavy, but the hidden camera is for me his best, a essential classic, nothing sounds like this, it is one of my alltime favourites. -

KJZ is majestic, listened to my copy today for the first in over 15 years. Timeless beauty.

I just love Hybrid, it's proper experimental beats and a dark atmosphere - the future is now -

Mesmerising stuff and surely this will be the be the most collected of D&B as it is like the contemporary Jazz of its day. Overlooked by many because of its completely different take on the genre, its experimental and constantly evolving soundscapes. In years to come this will be highly sought after. all the tracks on this EP are top notch too. One of my favourite Rupert tracks under any alias -

boy, does this record sound amazing. 45 rpm is the only way to hear these d n b classic cuts. quiet vinyl and brilliant mastering give this piece of music the sonics it deserves. if you like photek, get on this. -
