The soundscape of the synth melody on Raenon A-side reminds me a bit to wish you were here when pitch is at -2.
And of course it is a superb record that will never leave my collection for any money

Kanei with this typical PHOTEK bass scale, here it is played slowly. Masterblaster

A lot of fondness for this. Photek at his very best in my opinion. Nestled in an improbably sweet spot between Electronica, Intelligent Drum and Bass and Trip-Hop. Weird but also "street". The nineties at its finest.

For me it was always about "Kanei". Easily sits alongside the top quality "Likemind" catalogue of releases. A beautiful piece of work. If you know Likemind you'll know what I'm talking about =)

T.Raenon (version) was and still is a masterclass in experimental sound production from the genius that is Rupert Parkes.I bought this back in the day and played the A side and thought this is sublime drum and bass track, flip to the other side and was blown away by the sheer beauty of the soundscape. If I had to describe in a few words then I'll sum up with intelligent, emotive, and futuristic.

Wow - this track is so beautiful. Because of its wonderful arrangement and structure its sounds really well spaced, with each element able to really shine. The pads are gorgeous, the the hi hats and cymbals are really delicate and precise; the drum break is chopped into beautiful little pieces and then expertly arranged into something intricate and hypnotic. The bass booms, whilst also being restrained and thoughtful. Fantastic stuff from the golden era of this sound

A true masterpiece from Rupert Parks, however its criminally overlooked when people talk about his body of work under his many aliases.

Classic mid nineties atmospheric bliss, with techno/downtempo beauties on side 2 making this a true gem of a piece to collect.

Such a fantastic banger. T-Raenon especially, perfect for an easy comedown.

T'raenon undoubtedly makes a landmark in progression of the dnb sound. Where Applied Rhythmic Technology unraveled, OP-ART 001 lashes the two together imperviously Comming off with a strong, deep 92-94 ambient techno vibe/ With this release, Parkes acheives one of his finer moments.
