Just get a decent mastering engineer to spread it out over two lps of dead flat, nigh silent Optimal media goodness. The 2017 single disc was good considering its length but you are just not prepared for how much better the latest remastering combined with wider grooves is. This is right up with the best reissues of 2024 full stop!

Bravo to all involved for making this fine album truly come to life.

This is fantastic sound. I’m very stingy about wanting to sell this and get the 2LP remaster instead that will obviously sound even better than this does, but I definitely won’t sell this and I can wait awhile to get the 2LP because this sounds really great in sound and dynamics. To have all the tunes on 1LP instead of 2LP this is pretty good quality, having said that the 2LP will sound even better.

But again having said this sounds AMAZING !

Knowing that this is apparently a bootleg copy, that definitely explains how this sounds fuzzy and a bit too bass-y at times. Still. it's not a bad sounding album for a bootleg. I have official albums that sound worse than this.

Can somebody explain what makes this pressing a bootleg? Seems pretty good for a bootleg!

Just bought this from TheSoundOfVinyl for $12 and I think I over paid for it! The dynamic range on this is very limited and sounds muddled. Highs are capped and lows aren't very low either. If I crank it some more detail comes out but not impressed. Also, no code in my copy. Everything else matches from UPC and runouts.

Got it on the release date. Packaging is really beautiful but the record sounds like crap. A lot of surface noise, hissing, crackling, and it really differs per song. Miracle Drug is the most horrible listening experience in my entire vinyl collection. After some consideration I decided to return it and buy the black 2LP version instead.

Wish they would release the "Vertigo 2005, Live From Chicago" on a separate record. It's all becoming a little too financial prohibitive and excluding for most fans to buy these ludicrous box sets.

This is a fantastic pressing! Flat, quiet vinyl; phenomenal soundstage. The remastering in addition to spreading the album out onto two discs has really opened things up, giving the instrumentation room to breathe. Check out the separation of piano of bass, piano and guitar on Miracle Drug. That wasn't there before. Also, they have pulled the vocals back in the mix, which cleans up some of the "wall of sound" production that plagued earlier pressings. It's nice to hear that mandolin more clearly on City of Blinding Lights. Worth every penny. A must for U2 vinyl collectors.
