Edited 5 days agoMy copy has the identical label formatting as this Terra Haute entry but side one is stamped T 1 XZAL 9363 1A and side two is etched T 1 X ZAL-9364-2 1 C7. Both labels are somewhat glossy and purplish in color similar to the labels on the Bestway pressing listed on page 2. There are no other Terra Haute pressings I can find that have this stamped 1A runout on side 1 and dark purplish glossy labels. The sonics are amazing with a wide and natural dynamic range, expansive stereo soundstage, and well defined vocal and instrumental clarity. My 1969 4W/4W UK Decca pressing lacks these qualities in comparison. Includes pinkish lyric/credit inner sleeve and poster. I was given this copy by DJ who worked at UCLA college radio station when I was a sophomore at UCLA in 1969.

5 years later, and currently the lowest price for this record is going for $200. Absolutely mental to pay that much for a shittastic pressing.

I have a copy of this release, record is in condition NM/NM – 35 $.

With all due respect to those that are displeased with this release, I am astounded by it. My copy is dead quiet and perfectly flat, with the sharp edge mentioned below. I clean every new album with an ultrasonic record cleaning machine, so I can't comment on it being dirty coming from the factory.
I don't know why, but the acoustic guitars sound exquisite. The sound-staging throughout is brilliant. In fact, I use this album to demo my analogue gear, as I compare it to a terrible CD master and a 192/24 hi-rez version (maybe the same remaster?). Love in Vain seals the deal for everyone who hears it, as the imaging is unbelievable. -

This pressing sounds deep, clean, and detailed, with punchy bass and great separation. Mick’s voice comes through very clearly, with almost no distortion. “Live With Me” completely blew me away! -

My copy has a good amount of surface noise and the mix is pretty terrible. The hearing impaired should refrain from remastering duties. Not all of us are listening on low quality single speaker Bluetooth setups. This is just a terrible disappointment. -
Excellent pressing! Sound is full and I hear instrument separation that I don’t hear from streaming or even CD.
-
Very good pressing , Mick voice is perfect in the mix . Can hear all the instuments very well including nice low end . I do not reccomend the 2009 reissue , its a bad mix .

Mind meltingly good. No idea the source for this Japanese pressing but I wouldn’t be shocked if this is an analog transfer. In any case, it sounds exactly how you want this album to sound. This is my favorite stones album (hard choice, split between exile) and this is probably the only copy I will ever need. Pick it up, I’m sure you’ll feel the same way. Or don’t. You can’t always get what you want!
