Does anybody know/think we'll ever get proper expanded reissues of the Broadcast albums like we did with the Stereolab stuff?
-
For me, best VMP release and pressing in over a year. Literally perfect in every way - color, sound, jacket and delivered on time.
If you own the original or repress, do you need this one?
If you're asking, then you know the answer :) -
I'm so happy that this, unlike other VMP pressings recently, shipped out quickly and arrived in tact. Minor minor dish warp but nothing to get caught up with customer service on. The pressing color reminds of the one they used for the Grimes - Art Angels release they did. Sounds amazing. Definitely made me appreciate this record more.

Never heard of Broadcast until receiving this record from VMP.
I was a Stereolab fan in the nineties and I can hear some similarities here. Seems like a cool record that could grow on me over time. Pressing quality is very good. Nothing to compare to but it sounds great in a low-fi way. -

It's a fallacy that this sounds way better than the repress. It is just people trying to protect their investment.
Besides from that I'm not sure sure why this Broadcast album (although some would argue their best) goes for silly money when you can get their other 1st pressing relatively cheaply. I the 1st pressings of their other albums I own used to sell for crazy prices too, but have come down in price, due to the reissues.... This one hasn't.
I also think a problem with Warp reissues is that they are almost identical to the 1st pressing bar 1 extra letter on the label, so some think they have 1st pressings and you have people who try to sell new copies on the wrong listing. -
Edited 2 years agoThe groove quality of this pressing is very good. Extremely dynamic cut, dead quiet when it should be (played back with a line trace). I have only ever listened to the album digitally before now and would say the master for vinyl is worth the superlatives.
One comment about overall quality – I'd say whoever was responsible for QC and trimming swarf/flashing off the edge of each record dropped the ball a bit when they handled mine. It's incredibly rough and unfinished. -

I just picked up a sealed copy of this at a local indie shop..the vinyl is perfectly flat and dead quiet..really amazingly quiet..the sonics are wonderful..full and balanced across the spectrum with a spacious soundstage..thrilled with how good it sounds
