Gorgeous edition: dead silent vinyl, full dynamic sound and lovely thick cartboard sleeve, high quality reproduction of the original design.

Great sound. Clear and detailed top-end, deep, dynamic and alive overall. The music is magical - there is some mystical harmony in these tracks.
No surface noise, antistatic inner sleeve for the plate. Excellent release. -
Round white promo sticker with red text reading “Promotion copy not for resale” top left. Anyone else? Not sure if it came from the label this way or was placed after the fact.

Tha package is really well made in high resolution print, with exception of the front and back photos, which is strange because everything else is high res, including the photos inside the gatefold. Maybe they got a crap photos and remake the typography parts? About the sound, is great, amazing stereo drums parts. Besides that, it is quiet and after a proper wash (the record came a bit dirt) I can hear no pops or clicks at all. I'd recommend this pressing, although I always try to avoid those osbcure labels with crap pressings.

Edited 5 months agoThis is a great record and pressing, but something I don’t understand, Why a Duck?🥸

Out of all jazz albums in the 60s and 70s - this very recording is the most unique, most mindexpanding and most transcendent collection of miniature masterpieces ever put to record.
What Alice and her ensemble achieved here is the zenith of musical perfection in of spirituality, exploration and liberty.
I return to this album ever so often to find myself lost in its vast soundscapes.
‘Ptah’ and ‘Journey’ might be her most talked about and sought after releases, but it is this album which sets itself apart from the whole ocean of Jazz recordings, not just Alices but the jazz world in general. There is simply no other album like it.
Pro tip: listen at maximum tolerable volume for maximum effect. -
Any word on how this pressing sounds? Trying to decide between this and the 2015 Superior Viaduct reissue.
