Notes
Houses of the Holy is the fifth studio album and was released by Atlantic Records on March 26, 1973.
The album benefited from two band installing studios at home, which allowed them to develop more sophisticated songs and arrangements and expand their musical style. Several songs subsequently became fixtures in the group's live set, including "The Song Remains the Same", "The Rain Song" and "No Quarter". Other material recorded at the sessions, including the title track, was shelved and released on the later albums Physical Graffiti and Coda. All instruments and vocals were provided by the band Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Paul Jones (bass, keyboards), and John Bonham (drums). The album was produced by Jimmy Page, and it was mixed by Eddie Kramer.
The cover was the first by the band to be designed by Hipgnosis and was based on a photograph taken at Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland.
Although critical response was mixed, Houses of the Holy became a commercial success later receiving a Diamond (over 10-million albums sold)[4] certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1999. In 2020, the album was ranked at number 278 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
The LP cover was staged & photographed at the Irish Giant's Causeway. The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles northeast of the town of Bushmills.

I meant No Quarter, not above mentioned. Too many party favors. -

Great sounding pressing. Classic Zeppelin. Love In the Light. Hard card stock insert. -
Have a copy for sale - also have other Chinese knock off of Japanese mini sleeves with the inserts (no obi's tho) - me if interested.

Has inner groove distortion on my copy but otherwise it’s a quiet and fairly well-balanced pressing -
Sounds fantastic. Recommend snagging this Classic Records pressing. All around great. It made me like this album again, lol.

Edited 20 days agoI used have a UK “A1 PORKY/ B1 PECKO” repress too.
This West test pressing is Peckham’s individuall cut. Because the handwriting is slightly different.
Sound is similar. Vinyl press quality is stone-cold!
This is my instagram. Please, check it out. Another version also posted.

My copy is very beat up and this sounds REALLY REALLY GOOD. I got this for free because some guy just didn’t want it. If this was $30 I would get it. Get this pressing, it has great sound distribution, volume, and mix. This pressing is like an RL in that even if it is in bad condition it will still be one of the best sounding records you own.

Mucho better than my Japanese and GP cut.
It isn't hard to recocognise-
these things are clear to all from
time to time. -

Mines the same, RIP the unknown date though 🥲 sad -
Edited one month agoSo happy to find this 1973 Canadian original in excellent condition with RL in the runouts and it did not disappoint. Dynamic and everything EQ-wise in the right place, soft highs, good lows without being too bassy, sweet mids, good instrument separation but everything gelling together in a musical way. This is my 4th copy of this album, each one has different characteristics emphasized, but I think this one is the most balanced and musical, and as someone mentioned below… mystical at times
