Not a perfect press, but really good. Sound quality is 10/10. Been sleeping on this but there’s a lot to like across every player’s contributions. Overall I’d highly recommend.

I have an original, I bought this to have as a second copy, and I must say it sounds perfect. No surface noise. Comparable to the OG for sure.

Nice pressing. Excellent recording. If you have a holographic system, this recording will reward you. Highly recommended as a Tony Williams fan, but also if you just want a system demo record to show off your tubes.

I have one that has the P on both sides. It is Stereo. The labels say Stereo and the runout says BNST on both sides.

I'm not one of those people who buy everything that comes out, but I couldn't this up. Especially when I missed it ten years ago. A serious album by a 19-year-old boy, which was released a year after his successful debut. Spring is a completely different album. For a label that adapted to trends after a change in management, every project like this is a holiday. At the first two or three hearings, it seems inconspicuous, but its charm is inside, in fine details and layers. The rhythm section swings and the tenors soar in improvisation - Extras. Or melancholic - impressionistic From Before with spring birdsong and refreshing drops of rain. Imagination knows no bounds, maybe that's why the description on the back cover is missing...Maybe Shorter and Rivers don't shine like on the other albums, but with respect to the author, they complete a beautifully compact as whole. In addition, it opens the door for orthodox fans of traditional jazz. Get your hands on this album while it's still available. Great for audiophiles too. Unbelievable in how good condition the original tapes are still. Easy to love!

MY pressing was essentially perfect. I may have only heard one slight click throughout the whole album. The voluming is low for this, so I had to put up the volume to what is, usually, ear-splitting. Not here, the music seemed mild even at such a volume. This is where the pressing is key, since I have to turn the volume up to hear the music, and a noisy pressing would be unlistenable.

All of the instruments were well rendered. The drums were sharp, at times, and the decay of the cymbals was quite realistic. All of the other instruments were well-represented, but this whole affair is right-channel heavy.

I was a little surprised at the relatively low rating on Discogs. My reviews are never about the music itself, just in how well it sounds.

Beautiful sounding record that can be a challenging listen (musically). Dead quiet pressing with no surface noise at all. Very dynamic. Side A is a bit more avant-garde, with an excellent open solo from Tony. Side B is the more "traditional" side, with actual tunes. Essential? Probably not, unless you're a Tony Williams completist.

I absolutely love this record, interesting compositions and slightly outside but I'd hardly call this free jazz. There are definitely underlying melodies happening within the solos which turn this record into high level art in my opinion. A fine outing for Gary Peacock on bass who with Tony Williams propels the music forward. A must have in the Blue Note canon again imo. My copy plays and sounds perfect.

Very noisy, surface noise throughout. Cleaned it ultrasonically, made no difference. Not the type of quality I'm used to with this label.
