Santana – Welcome

A very underrated Santana album, with spiritual atmosphere, great play and very inspired compositions.

I’m relatively new to the Speakers Corner label so I’ve purchased four of their pressings recently to investigate their quality for myself as I’ve read mixed reviews about their stuff.
My pressing of Santana Welcome was flat and nominally static free as it comes in a poly lined inner sleeve. After playing it I found it to be quiet and free of unwanted pops or clicks. This LP sounds great next to my original pressing of it but I couldn’t help but wonder if it could sound better if it was recorded at 45RPM and split over two two LP’s.?

Sounds stunning, huge wide sound stage with great depth, Very good dynamic range, as good as if not slightly better than my minty 1st UK pressing

I bought this LP in 73 and still have it. I find it hard to describe without using a catch phrase but this album is "Alive" Every song blends into the next and it is definitely not what we think of when we hear of "Santana
" but he is definitely there . A great album and the average price of $5 you are are nut not to grab one. You will not regret it. By the way $5 is more than I paid for mine but mine still cost two hours pay

Wonderful music. Great follow-up to the classic Caravanserai. My copy sounds very good, I've had good luck with 70s Pitman pressings.

Are you sure this is a Canadian release? My runout matches this and no other and has NY NY address and no other indication that it is Canadian.

Like much of Santana, I find this to be pretty overhyped stuff. Not sure if I would ever give it a second listen.

Track no 3 is Santana at it's best. Listen! Great music.

Hi. Looking for the best Welcome reissue on vinyl. What is the most wanted - Speakers Corner ( 2012) or Friday Music (US 2013)? Or something else?
