why is this master release classified with a release date of 1972? please correct.

Sound is decent, but a bit thin as with many Japanese pressing. How does this version compare to a US press?

The cacophony of sound goes great with my toddler playing his toy piano. Is this the best pressed version of this album? I'll never know b/c I'll never spin it again to compare. However, it is pressed well and the jacket is quite nice. It's nice to have a key piece of jazz history in my collection, but that's about all it's good for.

How’s this one compared with the 2x45 rpm ORG release?

I did a back-to-back listen of this version and then streamed it through Spotify and streaming is hands-down better. This does have some sections that still sound warmer, but there isn’t enough stereo separation for OC’s experiment to have a chance. I’m keeping my copy, but if I had to do it over again I’d for sure .

I picked this up new from Half Price Books for only $9.99. It's a budget release so my expectations were not high, but I am very satisfied with this album. While I don't own any other versions of this album to compare it to, I can say this album plays just fine. No pop, hisses, crackles, or any other anomalies. I am sure there are better pressings available, but for a $9.99 new album, I have no complaints.

I held off buying this record based on the negative reviews on here, but I have to say that my copy is perfectly fine. I don't know if this kind of recording really benefits from the audiophile treatment, but it's a very enjoyable record nonetheless.
