Eighth studio album by The Beach Boys. Originally released in Mono and Duophonic mixes. The Mono mix is available on the 1990 & 2000 2fer CDs. The Duophonic mix is unavailable on CD. A Stereo remix of the entire album appears on the 2012 remaster.

Reissued in the 1970s in North American markets (minus two tracks) as "Dance, Dance, Dance", and in Europe as "Do You Wanna Dance?".

Maybe the worst sounding record in my collection. I have the 65 mono for comparison. I typically always prefer stereo over mono, but this stereo pressing sounds like someone threw a wet blanket over the speakers. How did Brian ever let this pressing exist ?

Duophonic gets a bad rap these days. I have original Los Angeles pressings of this album in both Mono and Duophonic; to my ears, the Duophonic pressing sounds more lively and present. I enjoy listening to the Duophonic than the mono pressing. The album- in any format- is superb.

This pressing sounds great! It’s much clearer than my first pressing. Much more bottom end too. I also own the mono and stereo Analogue Production pressings. I like the stereo best, but I think this 1994 mono sounds as good as the AP mono. If you’re looking for a modern mono presgrade, you can’t go wrong with this or the AP.
