man, this album kicks so much ass. the 'walk tall' on here is probably the definitive version. joe zawinul is at his funkiest playing ever, walter booker absolutely cooking, and david axelrod about making sure everything is pristine. the deep grooves on side two are possibly the best run on any adderley album from the time. i can't even say what cannon's best album is, but country preacher is surely in that conversation. -
