Paul McCartney – Flaming Pie

The pressing sounds unbelievably fantastic. Never thought that I could rediscover this gem on that level. A minor disappointment is that the second LP came a bit warped, though it’s not significantly affecting playing.

why the hell would they put the tracklist on a sticker on the wrapper of the CD. stupid

Sellers one here are selling above retail even though it's still in stock in various online stores... just buy from those when there's a sale going on..

Can't believe sellers are flogging this for double the original $600 retail price on this, especially when it's still in stock at places like Udisovermusic where they have regular store wide sales too - there's one as I write this - and this gets marked down occasionally. Got mine for under $250, marked down in a sale, which is the only reason I bought it. Beware though, it's a big set!

Purchased new fin 2024. Vinyl is quiet without any background noise between or within tracks. No visual imperfections on any of the 4 sides. Sonics are outstanding on par or better than 1st UK pressing with Audio Technica Shibata VM50SH stylus on a VM cartridge.

Got this one yesterday and to my great disappointment, as my recently added images show, this Japan release is actually the european one (identical run-outs and made) put in a plastic cover with japanese stickers and lyrics booklet included inside. Also, the pressing quality really let me down, as my copy is slightly warped all over (both records have similar warps) and has quite a few occasional clicks/pops. But the gatefold cover and original booklet is really beautiful. I have a huge problem, though, with audiophile pressings having no inner poly sleeves. It reeks of disrespect to both product and customer. One should think they cared enough to go that extra mile with at least these ones.

Is the cover of the extra disc hand printed? I read somewhere that it was...

PLEASE NOTE: My star rating does not indicate the quality of the album, but the quality of the pressing - Looking at previous reviews, I hadn't seen issues with side B. However, that was the side that I found had the most crackling. Sides C and D were just fine and sounded crystal clear. I was surprised to hear the dreaded campfire appear on side B though - Shame too because "Calico Skies" is on that side. I will come back after I do a wet clean and see if that resolves my issues on side B.

Sounds great but the lyric book is slipped in with the first record and so it got a warp to the edges. Still plays good with no skips or anything but it is a little annoying
