The half-speed remastered album appears in a gatefold sleeve with bespoke black card inner sleeves, includes a 16 page booklet, with lyrics and track info, and A5 size 'certificate' with information on the half-speed mastering process.
The home recordings LP appears in a non-gatefold sleeve with a bespoke red card inner sleeve and insert with the track listing, as well as a sticker applied to the back cover with copyright information.
Both records are housed in an outer slipcase with a paper slip (similar to a Japanese "obi") which wraps around the spine.
Runouts are etched. In runouts, all Optimal plating symbols may be inverted (e.g., “⊥” vs “T”) and/or mirrored (e.g., “1△” vs “△↾”).

Sounds great but the lyric book is slipped in with the first record and so it got a warp to the edges. Still plays good with no skips or anything but it is a little annoying
-
Very beautiful mastering and pressing - better than the original cd - don t have an original lp to compare with
-
A wonderful pressing for a wonderful album - my last McCartney until "III", in fact. So many beautiful songs in here, such a happy, memory lane kind of album.
The demos are a nice touch, the packaging is a delight. Full marks all around. -

Edited 4 years agoHad to return my first copy to Amazon as there was a pressing defect on record 3, side B, track 6 (Calico Skies). Replacement is perfect in every way:
- records all flat, centred with shiny, clean vinyl.
- absolutely superb sound quality on the main album and ranging from fine to very good on the home demos (given that they are home demos!). The main album’s sound is rich, layered, detailed, punchy and rhythmic. Sounds like his playing in your listening room.
- beautiful packaging and accompanying sheets / booklet.
As for the music, the demos are more just interesting extras but the main album is superb. Love it.
Gear:
Linn LP12 with Trampolinn 2, Kore, Karousel, Radikal Ekos SE, DV XX-2 MkII and Moon 110LP

Linn Akubarik speakers with Katalyst and Exakt -
Update: After 2 orders with defective LP#2 from Amazon, I ordered another from Target. Same thing happened. LP#2 skipped on sides C and D.. warped, off center, grooves messed up. Bad pressing!

Yep, I've got issues as well. Sound is good but Optimal did a really poor job. I've gotten two different copies from two different sources of each edition and both 1st tracks on side C & D I can't get thru without skipping. Definitely some banding and poor quality. Rest of album plays fine but the beginning of C & D wreaks havoc so clearly there is a pressing problem. I'm about to get a third copy, but I have a bad feeling this first big batch was rushed. Glad to see some on here don't seem to have the issue so fingers crossed.

Anyone have any issues with their LP#2? I've gotten two copies from Amazon and both were pressed off center and warped. LP#1 and #3 were perfect.
