I still prefer the track order of LAMF Revisited, as that's the version I came in on back in '84 — but I've owned just about every different mix that's ever been released of this fine LP, and this one really does have the most teeth and hair out of any of 'em. I found my copy for 15 bucks over at Collectors Choice Music, and I am extremely happy with it.

Charmingly mis-spelled track listing. It’s just a Norwegian thing 😂 -

Yet another LAMF mix! It was great to hear this one as they all seem to differ from one another. Drums, guitars n vocals. -

This cassette is awesome. The mix is completely different from the LP and is well worth looking for. I hope Cherry Red will release it in the future.

Can anyone please review the Italian version? I’ve heard it’s supposed to sound good but in what way? -

Finally landed a clean UK 1st because of course I needed to have an OG of one of the best punk albums ever made.
I’d actually ed it up once before due to its notoriously “awful” mixing.
I gotta say tho…I don’t think it sounds nearly as bad as the rep it’s gotten. Sure it’s a little muddy. Inconsistent. Some songs sound better than others. Chinese Rocks was probably the worst sounding but all in all…it sounds like a KILLER PUNK ALBUM! Good bass, fairly detailed depending on the song…I definitely enjoy spinning this more than the Revisited one simply for the history and the fact that it sounds just fine and raw which I quite like actually.
I guess I was expecting an unlistenable turd and it is far from that. I’d still like to get the Definitive one or whichever is considered “the best” but I have a feeling this will always be my go-to copy.
Mine is the Porky’s Prime Cut SPEEDY’S HIC DE FIC/SK GENIUS runouts FWIW. I wonder if the non-Porky cut is different. -
Edited 10 months agoThis is my third version of this album (4th if you count my CD), and of all I’ve heard this is the less frustrating one. And I insist on the “less frustrating”, because it’s simply not good enough yet.
Just compared it to an original French pressing my fav local record shop has. Although the original has way more punch and is way more natural, this new one is more listenable without wanting to wash the record 1000 times to no result.
And yes, its high end can be harsh and almost unacceptable at some points, but it’s still better than the muddy AF feel of the original. In my honest opinion.
And mentioned above, someone should simply take the original masters and do a good job DIRECTLY FROM THEM, instead of this digital garbage.
For now, I’ll be sticking with this one, even though we can still find ORG presses for good prices. -
I'm sitting on most LAMF presses and mixes through the ages, if you ever reached my old blog (whitetrashsoul) you'll probably already know the whole story. I'm assuming from the loud drums that this is Jerry's mix. No matter what you need this (also)!

I think they used exactly the same master for the recent CD issue: https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/20867818-Heartbreakers-LAMF-The-Found-77-Masters-Demos I hear no difference at all. All instruments and vocals very nicely separated and expressive. Maybe it could be more dynamic and less compressed, but it's the best sounding version I've heard so far. Some cracking on vinyl, so I think I'll listen to CD.
