My copy sounds fantastic. I noticed the difference in SQ immediately as for years Ive played nothing but the over compressed CD. Hearing the vinyl, the sound has opened up to my ears and makes for a much better experience.
I’m a big fan of this album anyway (Seem to be a minority there) and have played the digital version so many, many times. Now, I appreciate that whats been pressed to the vinyl is a digital file, but even so, the end result is so much more pleasant to my old ears.
Angel, Heaven, MyLittle Universe, The Child Inside, Alone, Dave’s 3 remarkable songs, the 4 bonus tracks. Love it. Even the ones Ive not listed are very good. Soothe My Soul - Hmmm. Less enamoured by that one. Feels like they’ve exhausted that elktro-blooz-stomp thang by now (Some of the 12” mixes are better); and Goodbye - not bad but missing something.
Great tour too.
So, yes, IMHO the vinyl version is the one to go for. Id avoid the CDs. -
sucks big time, basically unplayable. a lot of hisses, sounds muffled, stick to the original copies from 13' -
Edited 4 years agoTerrific sound quality on this repress. A pretty decent album with all the best tracks on disc 2.
