Depeche Mode – Delta Machine

The digibook format is not practical at all, the disc will be scratched when removed from the cover, I don't know why they insist on this.

One of my favourite DM albums. It's a complete masterpiece. The pressing sounds not as good as Spirit though.

I think this is a masterpiece of DM. The LP sounds great.
This music got the groove and mood! SLOW ist my absolute favorite, followed by BROKEN

My copy sounds fantastic. I noticed the difference in SQ immediately as for years Ive played nothing but the over compressed CD. Hearing the vinyl, the sound has opened up to my ears and makes for a much better experience.
I’m a big fan of this album anyway (Seem to be a minority there) and have played the digital version so many, many times. Now, I appreciate that whats been pressed to the vinyl is a digital file, but even so, the end result is so much more pleasant to my old ears.
Angel, Heaven, MyLittle Universe, The Child Inside, Alone, Dave’s 3 remarkable songs, the 4 bonus tracks. Love it. Even the ones Ive not listed are very good. Soothe My Soul - Hmmm. Less enamoured by that one. Feels like they’ve exhausted that elktro-blooz-stomp thang by now (Some of the 12” mixes are better); and Goodbye - not bad but missing something.
Great tour too.
So, yes, IMHO the vinyl version is the one to go for. Id avoid the CDs.

Oh my, what a mediocre album... The next 2 ones are even worse. They should have reshuffled their cards after Sounds of the Universe. Despite that, some songs are memorable. Heaven is good. Soft Touch/Raw Nerve is really cool. But overall, it feels like the same song playing over and over. Don't get me started on the bonus disc.

Great album. Bought mine via Barnes and Noble and d as limited edition with a bonus cd which wasn't included. And also no mp3 card. I'm a DM Devotee so I'll be keeping this anyways.

sucks big time, basically unplayable. a lot of hisses, sounds muffled, stick to the original copies from 13'

This is not the DM album you're looking for. They've been wandering aimlessly since Ultra and it seems they are trying to discover where they fit in. This is another album where Dave Gahan's voice sounds great and very dynamic, but it goes to waste over middling synth textures and song structures. While they've always leaned into the melancholy aesthetic this one is overly mournful and should not be listened to if you are depressed. They've been successful with this type of slow, dreary theme, but that was with dramatic music, hooks, and parts where you could grab hold of. There is none of that here and the album sounds like a bunch of rough sketches cobbled together just to slap together an album. Moving through quicksand.

An album should be an enjoyable listen, discovering new sounds and melodies and if it ain't that...then what the hell am I listening for?

Good sound on this album and vinyl pressing, far better than "Playing the Angel", which is nevertheless a better album. Musically "Delta Machine" is far from my favourite Depeche Mode, partly because I don't think that southern blues suits them that well - honestly I find it cringe to hear Dave Gahan trying to sing like BB King over slide guitar. But at least this time they got the production right.

I quite like Delta Machine. Good tour too. Martin sang Leave In Silence !
Anyway, like all post Ultra DM albums it needs pruning. Chop off Slow, Soft Touch, and Soothe My Soul (Awful) and what’s left flows quite nicely.
The bonus tracks don’t do much for me at all.
