Edited one month agoUnfortunately, my side B has some non fill sounds throughout, but it’s only noticeable in quiet parts. My sides A and D are also slightly off center, leading to noticeable pitch variation towards the inner groove. However, this sounds so absolutely astounding that I’m keeping it anyway, gorgeous stereo imaging to boot. Bob Ludwig and John Golden, can’t get much better. No siblance distortion issues with my copy.

Has anyone encountered sibilance on 1B? I bought a copy from a record store a few months ago and there is significant sibilance on 1B. Side 1A is beautiful just like everyone describes in these comments. I bought another copy recently from Beck's website directly, hoping that I would get a cleaner pressing, and it's exactly the same. I do not hear ANY sibilance on 1A but it's VERY noticeable on 1B. The comments of this pressing are so glowing, it would be great to know that I'm not crazy or that unlucky. Thanks.

Wonderful pressing! On my 3rd time through....quiet, detailed, great wide soundstage. Might be one of the best in my collection. Had a few stray trimmings around the edge, but cleaned up fine. "Made in " sticker on the back.

Other than some quality control issues--both records had some marks right out of the shrink--this is an extremely nice pressing. Mastered by Bob Ludwig, lacquer cut at Golden...what more could you want. Minimal but decent jacket, no frills. But at least it came with poly lined inner sleeves!

Beautiful majestic sound. I bought this on CD back in the day and the vinyl is SO much superior. However, the discs were absolutely filthy upon arrival. I was worried for a sec but a quick clean and all good. Nice quiet disc.

What a wonderful-sounding LP! This is a very quiet pressing with a lot of clarity. Beck's vocals are front-facing center, while the soundstage is nice and wide. The bass is nice and deep, with no muddiness. At times, the midrange can get a little convoluted, as in 'Lonesome Tears', but overall, the record is well-balanced and sounds great. I am very happy with this LP.
-
Compared to my MFSL CD the vinyl is more natural sounding and better balanced. The MFSL CD has a bit too much bass and Beck's vocals are lower in the mix. The vinyl also sounds a bit more open.
