Sounds much better than any digital file floating around streaming services. Much more lively and present than streaming, but I don’t have CDs or good files to reference.
There are the aforementioned static/distortion issues, but the tracks are cut so close together, there is a really fast transition into the next song, and little crackle in between, -
I thought about editing the notes to include this, but figured I'd ask if everyones copy was like this. On "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" the intro cuts out about half of the sample and Jay's lines about selling coke are censored, as well as his "(I'm Young, bitches!)" line. I assume this is a clean single edit and I'm not exactly turned away by it, more so just curious why. If anyones got the same thing or knows why feel free to reply, thanks.

I have a weird sound at the start on Side 1A - it's not dissimilar to a static-sound, but more severe - it's not blemishes on the disc, as it's mint :/ Could it just be the pressing, possibly..?

I was very skeptical buying this album. Thought for sure it was going to be a bootleg that hadn't been labeled as such on discogs yet. I can happily report that isn't the case! First, the negatives..The sleeve is thin and cheap. I heard a couple crackles here and there, but I didn't clean it. That's it. The drums and bass sound excellent, vocals are clear, and the horns really pop. If you're a fan of this album, and how could you not be, do yourself a favor and skip the original. This is the copy to get.
