Side A of my copy turns off-center, side B run ok.
Has someone else the same problem?
Matrix/runout (A side runouts, 01 468884 20 1A1) -
I seem to have a slightly different version; Its similar to the second variant listed above but Side A etch is 'B' not 'A'
Matrix / Runout (Side A runout): 01 468884 20 2A 1 B
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout): 0 1 468884 20 1B1 C -
I concur with the positive reviews, great pressing! I have also the 94 US Press, the European sounds a little bit more muddier and bassy with the guitars recessed compare to the US but man the bass here sounds great (on "Deep", it sounds really deep!), best I ever heard. Love it!

Sounds better than i've ever heard this album. Especially Alive. I have always prefered this mix, way more than the remastered version and in this pressing theres something very clear about the reverb

Edited one year agoMy copy has a sticker on the back which states “Property of Sony music. Demonstration only. Not for sale.” As far as I can tell this isn’t a promo as the label etc. is identical to a normal European first press. This is the first one I’ve come across with this sticker though.

Beautiful sounding pressing......Everything after it sounds dull. Released shortly before nevermind but still my favourite album from this era.

Edited 4 years agoThis is much better sounding pressing than the current reissue, which was dull and anemic sounding.
This is a long record (53 min) for vinyl. Yes, there is more dynamics in the CD, but this LP is surprisingly nice sounding! Maybe best pressing you can get in one LP disc.
Keep in mind that records sound different depending system they are played... -
Get the original CD pressing. Much more dynamic than this pressing. I sold mine a while ago. Don’t be fooled into buying this because it's on vinyl it must sound better. I am a vinyl nut btw.
-
Excellent pressing indeed.
I have the second variant, but no letter hand-etched. Also there is a hole punctured through the cover and the insert, the record in mint though. I bought the record still wrapped in a second-hand record store in in late 1990s. I am not sure whether it was meant to be a promo (no such sticker on it) or to be discarded, but was eventually rescued and sold on second-hand market... -
Best pressing i know!
Warm sound, very well balanced.
My copy has some differences:
Matrix / Runout (A side runout, machine stamped): 01 468884 20 2A1
Matrix / Runout (A side runouts, hand-etched): A
Matrix / Runout (B side runouts, hand-etched): B
