Edited 3 months agoPart of Sasha’s 4 track extravaganza (lol) on his essential mix release in ‘95 - and he still smashed it… partly through the full unabridged version of blue Amazon’s paradise regime. What a time to be alive and discovering this for the first time. The music really had something special

So many Prog House tunes just pump in the same bass key all the way through. Wired (The Stonk Remix) goes to show how refreshing and uplifting it is to play with the key of bass.

In years to come, people will marvel at this music and wonder how it was possible that such greatness was achieved? We lived in a time of amazing greatness, and totally took it for granted!! I pity the people the people who Don’t get it!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Edited one year agoWas led back to this track by a Discogs edit. Funny I can exactly the first time I played the Stonk mix out in 1995. Worked really well with the strobes. Lots of nice arm waving ensued. Funny, not as dated or bad as I expected, I think because of that nice, slightly melancholic chord progression, which is a good foil for the general progressive house uplift. Pretty bloody good really.

Edited 8 years agoA lot of the Jackpot catalogue has not aged well and sounds positively dated today, but this track - in particular the Stonk Mix - still stands up as a fine piece of progressive trance.

This label was leading the pack when it came to this sound back when this track was released. The original mix is more trancey while the other side is a little more tech/minimal but still very similar from what i . This track was massive for me back in the day and i spent many a night 'wired' listening to this! Classic 90's Prog House

Most people now look back on records like this as everything that was bad about "epic house" at the time this style was hammered by the likes of Sasha and Digweed. Personally I think the Jackpot label and tunes by Blue Amazon and Tenth Chapter were ground breaking. Long, building atmospheric trance that took you on a journey away from the dance floor. Wired is one of the best examples of this genre and although I wouldn’t play a whole set of this kind of trance, the odd one or two could easily be played out.
