I have an OG of this, granted it is obviously not in perfect condition.. this pressing is phenomenal! I have nearly every Sinatra reissue from 2014-15 and can tell you they are all amazing! The audio quality blows me away and I have yet to have a dud from the series. On average, I have spent $15 to $20 on each one. I couldn't recommend these pressings more.
Musically, what more can be said about this album that has not already been said? It practically invented the modern idea of an album as a continuous piece of music as art. Without this album, music history would be drastically different than it is today. This album opened the door for everything that has come since.. the theme, the album art, the artist being able to choose what music they make and their own personal aesthetic. It all started here in what Sinatra was doing between late 1953 and through 1956. Or, even as far as into the '60s. Sinatra had so many peaks in that era but none greater than this 1955 release! -
As others have said, this is far and away the best sounding cut of this album since the original ‘55-‘60 releases, before any stereo reverb or echo was added, etc. McMaster really hit it out of the park here, other than the slight clip on “I’ll Be Around’s” intro. Given how hard (and expensive) it is to find the originals with minimal wear, especially the 10” copies, this release is the default best choice for consistency. Favorites are “I Get Along Without You Very Well,” “It Never Entered My Mind,” “This Love of Mine,” and “When Your Lover Has Gone,” in that order.

My personal favourite of all of Sinatra's works. Got it at a Newbury Comics after a year of searching high and bloody low for this! I was BLOWN AWAY by the actual 0 surface noise, this is one of the CLEANEST records I've ever owned. Each instrument comes through loud and clear, no poor mixing or muddled sounds. Highly recommend it for any Sinatra fan looking for a great remaster!

Edited 6 months agoI got this strange thing I’ve never seen before on a vinyl record: in two spots there are tiny little bumps, like tiny little pimples. They cause a loud bump (as if someone tapped the microphone) for about ten rotations, nothing more.

Originally recorded in 1955? Well this just sounds fantastic considering it’s vintage. Just a superb and magical listen especially “in the wee small hours”….
Sinatra had his flaws but it’s easy to overlook these when the music is as perfect as this. An utterly sublime record. -

Edited 2 years agoThe soundquality is magical but my copy is horrendous. Pops and tics all the way through. Even after washing it is still barely listenable. Maybe a bad copy but no fun to listen to.

Wow. Shocked me. I have the Sinatra Acoustic Sounds issue which is amazing and 4 of the Mofi issues and this smokes 2 of the Mofi releases. Tone of his vocals really surprised me.

Are the versions for sale in the US the same pressing as this EU version since there are no other variants of the 2014 here on Discogs?
