Fantastic press! I'm guessing this was out of stock for a while because I haven't seen it in a while, and now it's everywhere again. I'm not surprised by some of the earlier comments on this pressing as I've read similar regarding other Rhino pressings from 2015-2018. Mine sounds fantastic, none of the issues from some of the other posts. Hopefully Rhino has solved the previous issues noted by other reviewers, not only around this pressing but, other's as well.

Mine is perfect. Silent pressing and excellent mix. Better, much punchier than my copy of Violator, also from 2007 reissue.
-
Maybe we just got a good version but it sounds excellent to us, no pops, no surface noise and great sound.
-
Very disappointed. The mix seems to be OK, but the record is full of pops all around. Surface noise is obvious in “Behind the Wheel”, right channel [read some other comments below]. I decided not to return this copy to the store and keep it, to show people how a brand new record of a considered “deluxe” edition can have such a bad quality. SHAME ON Warner-Sire-Mute-Reprise-Rhino records.

Edited 7 years agoMy copy has intermittent pops & surface noise throughout the right channel on side 1. I'm not talking extreme noise that would enrage you, just little pops that appear every so often.
And there's a small amount of sibilance too. I'm not too sure if I just got a dodgy copy or not.
It's nowhere near enough to make me return it to the shop though. It would be a shame to destroy it.
EDIT 15 MINUTES AFTER THE ABOVE WAS WRITTEN:
No, wait. This is not acceptable. Just put on side 2, and there's ANNOYING surface noise throughout Behind The Wheel (right channel again).
Sorry, this is going back to the shop. NOT ACCEPTABLE.
EDIT 1 DAY AFTER THE ABOVE:
Ok, so I took it back and got another copy.
The exact same issues! Warning issued. This pressing is SUSPECT. -
