Matt Johnson war mit diesem Album 1983 schon so weit vorne, das Schaffen, die Ideen, die Musik, einfach genial. Pressung 10/10

Absolutely wonderful album and pressing.
Sounds dynamic, spacious and airy.
A must have if you are a early eighties indie collector. Simply, Brilliant 👍 -
And this is another inclusion to the "10 records I would bring to a remote island".
Ever since hearing 'Giant' for the first time in a Berlin club, this album has accompanied me through my life and has constant rotation several times a year.
The music on this album is light and airy, bouncy, floating but also brooding, haunting and dark at the same time. The more darker songs like 'Tomorrow' with almost Joy Division-esque synthesizers or 'The Sinking Feeling' are perfectly matched by (deceptively!) cheerful and more accessible pops songs like 'Perfect', 'This Is The Day' with its accordion and 'Uncertain Smile' with its piano solo by Jools Holland.
But 'Giant' definitely stands as the album's finest moment and is for sure one of my all-time favourites - luckily lasting for nine and a half funky minutes. A remarkable blend of a drum machine and a fat keyboard bass line and with a finale that almost sounds like an African ritual.
To me, this album sounds as fresh today as as it was in 1983. A landmark 80's album, way ahead of its time when released and with extraordinary songwriting by Matt Johnson. Timeless and sublime.
