Definitively the most underrated funk band of all time. Their debut album is very accomplished, a collection of gritty funk jams the guitar solo on slide is blow your mind cool. The final two songs are the only ballads on the album and they are fantastic. Slave I think are a little like Parliament/Funkadelic although less quirky. The album isn't without it's flaws though, in my opinion son of slide is a little pointless and feels a little lazy, like a B-side thrown in to bulk up th album. Party Hardy has an ending as well which annoys me which is a shame because the bulk of the song is great.
Generally though I would give this album a big thumbs up!
